Page Ninety Nine was from Sterling Virginia. Catching the attention of many people and gaining fans fast with there extremely unique style. Always switching there style up, which is what i think made them so original and diverse. They were aiming for a punk rock sound, but strongly influenced by metal and i good variety of screamo music, this is what came about. With there super original guitar riff’s that seem to climb out of your cd player and massage your ear drums. And these helpless but yet angry vocals coming behind the mic get Pg.99’s point across fast. Every musician that was ever in this bands musical perspective and minds colidided perfectly at the right perspective and brought you this crazy and unwilling to negotiate frequency that came to be known as “Pg. 99″.
This is a Band for detonating violence. It is designed to injure the processes of thought, the physical body, the spirit, and the decaying state of music. It was specifically created as an idol-smashing destroyer of orthodoxy. Given the present state of affairs in contemporary culture, it is a hostile and essential response to the false, industry-created “alternative youth culture” designed by the Major Label-Ozzfest-Clothing Sponsorship Complex to sap creativity, originality, willpower, and true passion, rage, violence, and creation. Pg. 99 is a young seven member cult/band from Richmond, Virginia - two vocalists, three guitars, bass and drums absolutely tranzing and singular of mind and purpose. Composed of equal parts blast beats, screeching, jagged guitars, and heretic howls, there is a sonic space somewhere between the melody of emo, the spastic fire of modern hardcore, and the velocity of grindcore. Songs that open with machine-gun like bursts of blast drumming and indecipherably heated vocals may yield to avant indie rock, jazzy syncopation, mechanically rhythmic, quietly desperate, or cacophonous. Anything can happen. This is a band in full command of their instruments, operating as a precision instrument against convention and complacency. Extreme noise, extreme response, absolute confrontation IS the answer.

Formed in Sydney, Australia, in 2006, Sword Toward Self perform neoclassical extreme metal built on a foundation of death, black and thrash metal influences. Complimenting this are elements more introspective and dynamic than might be expected of most metal bands, combined with a lyrical approach that is articulate and philosophical. The result is as challenging and unapologetically artistic as it is punishing, reaching toward a powerful vision of the future of metal from the tap root of its history.
