After establishing itself in a very short time as Perth’s premier Dubstep/Drum and Bass night Resonate is back. Resonates popularity has propelled it to become a regular Rise night. HUGE Dubstep debut by YLEM, TIFA and SAXON. This is definitely not a night to miss at Rise.
Resonate is a night devoted to broken beats and bass. Bringing together the tightly coiled productions of Dubstep with the fast breakbeats of DnB in perfect combination on a system with the brutal force that enables you to feel the sub-frequencies reverberating through the very essence of your being.
Local legends and up and comers alike feature on a diverse roster aimed at presenting the good, bad and dirty but only the best the genres offer. Perth has long been recognised as a musical and creative epi-centre, Resonate offers a vehicle to showcase the wide array of talent, both globally recognised and as yet undiscovered our city has to offer.
Resonate projects powerful penetrating soundwaves through the Dubstep and Drum n Bass communities to draw together lovers of bass. This is loud, it is filthy, it is low.

NEW RELEASE from our friends at SUB CONTINENTAL DUB. Awesome stuff, check it:
WESTERNSYNTHETICS - THE MACHINE
Australian up-and-coming producer Westernsynthetics, AKA Rhyece O’Neill, is backing up what’s already been a sparkling 2010 with the release of‘The Machine’, the lead single from his politically charged debut album ‘May Day Radio’. Presented by pioneering South Pacific label Sub Continental Dub, it follows from the success of his earlier ‘Engine No. 999’ 12-inch single.
Fusing his unique blend of acid, dub, techno and electronic psychedelia, Westernsynthetics draws from vast pallet of soundscapes, live instrumentation and subversive imagery. Featuring vocals from Charles Smith, it straddles the realms of deep minimalist dubstep, techno and psychedelia with a revolutionary outlook. Sampling Mario Savio’s infamous speech of the same name, spoken during the free speech movement at Berkley University in 1965, it’s a universal call to action. Summoning the sadness that lingers in the dark corners of the urban jungle, it’s set to a stunning soundtrack of beats that are both slickly produced as well as emotionally gripping.
Westernsynthetic’s ‘The Machine’ is released on July 9th, with his ‘May Day Radio’ album set to land in September 2010. Mastered by one of Australia’s finest engineers Tony ‘Jack The Bear’ Mantz, it will be distributed internationally by renowned UK imprint Cargo Records.
