Earthdance 2007 - A prayer for peace
THE EARTHDANCE MISSION
Our mission is to promote peace by joining participants worldwide in a synchronized PRAYER FOR PEACE and to support humanitarian causes through the global language of music and dance.
THE EARTHDANCE VISION
Our Vision is to inspire participation from promoters, clubs, artists, musicians, and peace-lovers worldwide to dedicate one day in support of humanitarian efforts and help unite people from all nations in a day of peaceful celebration.
SPREADING THE LOVE
Our objective is to create as many Earthdance events around the world as possible. From stadium concerts to living room gatherings, there are no conditions on how big or small an event has to be. With the advent of technology, Earthdance has extended our reach via the website, email outreach campaigns, and webcasting. Over 1,000,000 people have attended live Earthdance events since it began, and Earthdance is recognized as the world’s largest synchronized dance and music event for peace. Earthdance brings people from all races and cultures together and raises awareness and funds for many select causes.
Not only is the goal of Earthdance to join the global community in celebration of peace, but it also supports international and local charities around the world, and over $1,000,000 has been donated to charity since it began.
In the spirit of “Think Global, Act Local,†each local promoter is asked to donate at least 50% of their Earthdance event’s profits to a local charity of their choice. Each promoter also commits to include that charity in their event by giving them space to display information, and time to speak at the event.
To become an Earthdance promoter, go to www.earthdance.org and fill out the online promoter application. Each public event will have an official Earthdance webpage (i.e: www.earthdance.org/london). There are certain criteria that determine if an event is public or private.
