Reconciliation Australia is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation promoting reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians for the wellbeing of the nation. Check it out:
What is reconciliation?
Our vision is for an Australia that recognises the special place and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians, values their participation and provides equal life chances for all.
Reconciliation involves justice, recognition and healing. It’s about helping all Australians move forward with a better understanding of the past and how the past affects the lives of Indigenous people today.
Reconciliation involves symbolic recognition of the honoured place of the first Australians, as well as practical measures to address the disadvantage experienced by Indigenous people in health, employment, education and general opportunity.
The Hype Machine follows music blog discussion. Every day, hundreds of people around the world write about music they love. Then it all ends up here. Explore!
What’s this radio thing?
Hype Radio is Internet radio that is powered by blogs. All the tracks that end up in the stream are songs recently mentioned by bloggers listed on the Hype Machine. It’s radio that’s truly powered by the Internet - Enjoy!
How does it work?
The Hype Machine tracks a variety of MP3 blogs. If a post contains MP3 links, it adds those links to its database and displays them on the front page.
Some of the frequently accessed tracks are cached by the Hype Machine server, much like Google Search caches web pages, to reduce load on the bloggers’ servers and protect their bandwidth.
Those tracks are NOT available for download, but you can preview them via the “listen” links that are next to each track or using your media player.
The blog that posted a particular track
is identified under every track by name and with a “read post” link that leads to the blog post itself. If you enjoyed a track someone posted, stop by and let them know!
You can purchase CDs and individual tracks by using the “amazon” and “itunes” links that appear next to most tracks. Each purchase you make via the Amazon and iTunes links supports both the artists and the Hype Machine. Please buy and enjoy.

As major new challenges like climate change and escalating religious conflict threaten our common future, people from around the world are coming together to take global politics into their own hands. Avaaz.org (Our name means “Voice” or “Song” in several languages including Hindi, Urdu, Farsi, Nepalese, Dari, Turkish, and Bosnian) is a community of global citizens who take action on the major issues facing the world today. Our aim is to ensure that the views and values of the world’s people — and not just political elites and unaccountable corporations — shape global decisions. Avaaz.org members are taking action for a more just and peaceful world and a vision of globalization with a human face.
In our inter-connected world, the actions of political leaders and corporations are having a profound impact on all of us. To match the power and reach of global leaders and borderless corporations, Avaaz.org members are building a powerful movement of citizens without borders. As citizens without borders, we might not have the resources of governments, corporations or the media, but working together we can bring together millions of people around the world and make global public opinion really count on major global issues like poverty, climate change, human rights and global security.
Using the latest technology, Avaaz.org empowers ordinary people from every corner of the globe to directly contact key global decision-makers, corporations and the media. By signing up to receive updates from Avaaz.org, members receive emails and text messages alerting them to new campaigns and opportunities to act online and offline, and to make a real difference on pressing global issues.
