‘rascal recommended’ : [DPH021] DownBeat dub – Electrorgánico

[DPH021]// DownBeat dub – Electrorgánico //

Argentina strikes again! From the province of Mendoza comes DownBeat dub, a four member live band with a twist! Emi Bless (Drum & SetLive), Jah Sound (Bass & Synth), Coco (Guitar) and Eter Dub (Keys & Brass) are mixing organic sounds with some heavyweight dubwise business. “Electrorgánico” is the name of their first digital release on Dubophonic. Half organic and half electronic, Latin America is cultivating indeed some serious dub vibes and is establishing itself in the world dub map!

“Electrorgánico” is also the name of their style, the result of their passion and commitment to explore dub music and introduce some new musical paths. The four musicians from Argentina are passionate and dedicated to the study and live performance of dub music. Their album is an amalgamation of many elements: analog meets digital, organic meets electronic, ethnic meets dub.

Starting with Coco’s guitar healing the nation, the journey continues with some funky dub sounds leading to an inside upliftment. Only to pause for some inspiration through the musically artistic interludes, admiring the view from the high mountains of Aconcagua, the journey continues in an everlasting musical creation. You are invited to join the journey and be a part of their world.

…a friendly green reminder

Posted on 3rd November 2014 by Brett Caporn (LRRecords) in download,dub/wise,electronica,lrrecords,music,release promo - Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Could this green space be compared with Earth?
A perfection bourgeois revolve around;
Inputs without thought, outputs with scant worth.
Lawns, an abyss to obsess and confound.

A rule of heads amongst a sea of blades.
Each front to yearn for chemicals, oil, water;

Why take care when one could just let forth raids?
Machines and sprays run Mother and father.

But, beneath sod lay a basis for health.
The soil lusts for greenery with substance;

To bear fruit and herb, to wield organic wealth.
Now, till, compost, sow and grow in abundance.

To consume is to produce only pawns,
Urban rebellion, to grow food, not lawns.

[release promo] Freakquency – Gravatis Recordings

,,,,raving freakout!!! >> ‘rascal recommended’

Freakquency by Zebbler Encanti Experience

As masters of the full sensory psychedelic experience, audio-visual group Zebbler Encanti Experience return to Gravitas Recordings with their newest offering, Freakquency. Coining a musical style they refer to as “psytrap”, ZEE shows off their aural dynamism by combining elements from dubstep, psytrance, trap, and other bass music styles into five tenaciously coherent songs. Sound design takes center stage in their creations, transporting the listener into an ever expanding kaleidoscopic world populated by entities that are anything but monochrome. Each track on the EP will also be given it’s very own visual treatment, creating an ocular story that challenges popular subjective conceptions of beauty and desolation. Due July 15th, the album will be available through Gravitas as an expected pay-what-you-want download, opening the doors for every listener to ride this Freakquency.

Yes, we are a crowd.

It seems it was yesterday, but it has been more than 12 years since that epic text* that shook european disobedience movement was written, short before Geneva Summit

“They say that they are new, they christen themselves by acronyms: G8, IMF, WB, WTO, NAFTA, FTAA… They cannot fool us, they are the same as those who have come before them: (…) the old world that stopped our assaults and destroyed all stairways to heaven.

Nowadays they have a new empire, they impose new servitudes on the whole globe, they still play the lords and masters of the land and the sea. Once again, we the multitudes rise up against them.”

Yes, we are a crowd. Javier Ochoa has his mind clear and his rethorical questions quickly finds the answer in this track, full of consciousness, pride and (re)assertion

Yes, we are a crowd. We are no longer doubtful. That is what we are: little, young and old, fighting for our rights, armed with our words and bodies.

And our music: derlivered once again by Bass CUlture Players, this time under the Back-A-Yard label. This deep and solid riddm seems tailor-made for the message and vocals of Javier Ochoa. Puppashan complets the work with a penetrating dub splattered with sparks.

And judging by its latest releases, anyone could think that Discoinferno holds on to our time’s pulse. Our time, where doubts, fears and questions transform into affirmation:

Yes, we are a crowd.
