This Saturday KNOWLEDGE welcomes DJ & Producer –
** JOOLS ** !!
Off the back of his first EP with Little Rascal Records we get the low down on his throw down.
* Who are some of your favourite artists and what can we expect to hear this
I have a few artists that come to mind. S.P.Y., Serum, Calibre, Dom and Roland, Need For Mirrors, and there are a lot more artists to mention who have influenced me growing up.
This Saturday I have some Jungle classics to play… with some new tunes thrown in the mix, including some of my own production!
*What are some of the highlights of your DJ career so far?*
I have played for a few various nights around Perth, including Liquid Lounge and Culture Clash. I have had the opportunity to play along side Perth’s amazing local talent. I have also been offered a set at BAY-SS festival in March which I am really looking forward to playing!
*Can you tell us a little about the tracks you have been producing, and about the record label you have released on?*
I have always liked dark basslines and synths, as well as heavy amens, so I have tried to bring to my music Jungle flavours with a lot of heavy breakbeats and dark atmospheres. I released my debut EP with Little Rascal Records in August last year, and I have my second EP with the same label due late March.
*Who are your two chosen support DJ’s and why have you chosen them?*
I have chosen two mates, Dj Size and Execute. Apart from being awesome people, they both encompass my musical taste. Dj Size with his dark, deep, minimal style and Execute with his Jungle riddims.

The karri, jarrah, tuart and tingle forests are the heart of Australia’s South West. Western Australians love them and want to see them protected.
Protecting native forests, ensuring their health and vitality, supporting sustainable forest enterprises and transitioning the timber industry will bring tremendous environmental, social and economic benefits to the South West and the whole of Western Australia.
For many years we have been told that forest protection is in conflict with economic prosperity and employment. But as you’ll see, that is not the case. The timber industry is not profitable and relies on our taxes to stay afloat. Mills are closing and workers are losing their jobs. A well managed transition is overdue and its time has come.
We welcome your support and involvement as we put the FORESTS FOR LIFE plan into action. On this site you will discover what’s happening right now in the forests, what we need to do about it and how we can create hundreds of jobs, grow our own timber and deliver profound environmental benefits.
We encourage you to sign up, contact us, share the information and donate. Together we can make this happen!

The Federal Budget contains cuts of $1.4 million p.a., funding that currently keeps community radio stations broadcasting on digital in 5 capital cities. Community radio’s standing alongside public and commercial broadcasters is at risk.
The good news is that community radio has great community support and during this election campaign we’ll be speaking up loud and clear and calling for both the Coalition and Labor to restore the funding if they win government.
Sign the petition below and we’ll make sure that both Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten get your message.
Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten, as a supporter of community radio I’m asking you to reinstate funding to keep community radio on digital if you win government.
Community radio serves so many Australians; from radio reading for people with a print disability to programming in the different languages spoken across our country, to Indigenous broadcasters, faith based stations, regional stations and youth stations.
Please don’t leave community radio behind.
